tuesday afternoon with mylene and her birthday at the eiffel tower!

on tuesday, i met moo for lunch in her hood. we sat at a cafe and this was my lunch that i ordered off the chalkboard menu. apparently it was a very french meal (brochettes). all i know is that it was delish.

then we went shopping along rue moufftard and got some groseilles. they are fantastic little sour fruits that don't even exist in the states!!! (mum, you would like these!)
they are moo's favorite ever.
i like them too. i'm not really sad...
moo had to go work on her thesis so i spent a few hours walking around. did a lil shopping.........
walked some more. saw the sights. had to stick a style pic in here: this girl's outfit was pretty cool. i like the boots, but the jeans are very unique. the big side pockets make them look almost like jodhpurs, but it's not the cut of the leg, it's the extra spacious pockets.
very cool, in my opinion...
so this picture is not at all interesting, but they sell origins and l'occitaine products at the pharmacie! this apparently is normal for people here, but to me, this is extravagant.
i just thought it funny, so there you go.
friday was mylene's 25th birthday!!! we celebrated with a picnic-party at the champs de mars next to the eiffel tower. it was so fantastic!!! i don't care if i was taking pics with all the other tourists, it's awesome. and the blue lights are amazing too. SOOOOO PRETTY!
on the hour, there is a sparkly light show for a few minutes. it is so beautiful. i don't care how cliche it might be, if someone wants to give me a ring in front of this, i will gladly accept. ;)
architecture shot. pretty stinkin cool.
my mylene, the birthday girl and my roommate nono.
moo had a nice turnout, lots of people milling about and chatting and munching and drinking.
it was all very cute.
so yeah, this one was a very short post but it is 2h45 and i am tired!!! today nono and i went to the market and bought enough veggies to feed an army!!! she loves her veggies. we went to the bakery and i got my first official baguette, a pain au chocolat and one with raisins. so good!!! then we cleaned a bit and decided to be lazy for the rest of the day.
tonight i met mylene and a ton of other people at a sidewalk cafe for drinks and chats. very nice and calm. so that is all for now. until next time...
